Mastodons Finish Ninth at Sunshine Spring Classic

ORLANDO, Fla. - IPFW's women's golf team posted a 345 during its second round on Friday at the Sunshine Spring Classic at the Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Fla.
The Mastodons completed the 36-hole event with a 682 to land in ninth place at the par-72, 6,009-yard layout.
Junior Alyssa Turney continued to lead the 'Dons on day two after she carded a round of 81 to go with her previous round of 80 to finish tied for 19th place.
IPFW freshman Allison Curtis posted an 87 during her final round to tie for 34th place at 170, while sophomore Maggie Talbert improved one stroke from yesterday to finish the event with a total score of 175 (88-87) and tied for 41st place.
Freshman Sydney Bailey and sophomore Taylor Lamphier each posted total scores of 178 to tie for 50th place. Bailey posted a 90 on the second day, while Lamphier was two strokes behind with a 92.
In individual action, freshman Ashton Taft had a 36-hole total of 188 after posting 84s to tie for 31st place, while junior Breanna Hatter improved four strokes from yesterday to finish in 54th place with 182 (93-89).
IPFW will return to action March 25-26 at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. at the Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
