IPFW Athletics Announces 2012 Volleyball Promotions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Only days away from the start of the 2012 season, the IPFW Athletic department announces promotions for the upcoming women's volleyball campaign, one in which the Mastodons are preparing to contend for another Summit League championship.
The Mastodons begin their pursuit of a second conference title since 2009 by hosting the Hyatt Place Fort Wayne/IPFW Invitational this weekend, Aug. 24-25 at the Gates Sports Center.
Season ticket plans are on sale, and fans can purchase season or individual match tickets by calling (260) 481-6372, visiting the Larson Box Office located in the Gates Sports Center, or online through www.gomastodons.com.
Game Night Promotions
Aug. 28 vs. Ball State – Casa 2-Pack/IPFW T-Shirt/Volleyball Camp Reunion Night
Bring a friend to the match. Purchase two lower level tickets for $10 and receive a $10 gift card to Casa Restaurants; a $24 value for only $10. The first 200 students to attend the match will receive a FREE t-shirt courtesy of the Indiana Purdue Student Government Association (IPSGA). IPFW is also inviting back all members from the 2012 Kelley Hartley Hutton Volleyball Camp. Camp members are encouraged to wear their camp t-shirt and join in a pre-match ceremony.
Sept. 18 vs. IUPUI – Club Volleyball Night
Mastodon Volleyball is inviting local youth volleyball teams to Club Volleyball Night. Club team members who wear their team uniform will receive FREE admission and a chance to be recognized on the court and stand with the team during the national anthem. Two lucky club teams will be also chosen to play on the court between games of the match. If you would like your team to be a part of Club Volleyball Night, contact IPFW Athletics at (260) 481-6372.
Oct. 20 vs. South Dakota – Breast Cancer Awareness Night
The Mastodons will continue their passionate recognition with the fifth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night. Each year the team wears pink uniforms to honor those individuals who have suffered from breast cancer. Proceeds from the match will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation to help find a cure. IPFW encourages all fans to wear pink for the match and support the cause. For ticket information and ways to donate, contact IPFW Athletics at (260) 481-6372. This match is presented by Lutheran Health Network and The Grove Fort Wayne.
November 3 Nebraska Omaha – Campus Appreciation Night/Senior Night
Mastodon Volleyball would like to welcome all IPFW faculty and staff to attend the final home match of the season. Any faculty and staff that show their Mastodon ID at the box office will receive a discounted admission. IPFW will also recognize the outstanding careers of four seniors; Haley Emenhiser, Jessie Manwaring, Tessa McGill, and Megan Steenhuysen.
IPFW opens the 2012 season on Friday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. ET against Murray State on the first day of the Hyatt Place Fort Wayne/IPFW Invitational at the Gates Sports Center. The Mastodons play two matches on Saturday, Aug. 25 as they take on Cleveland State at 1:00 p.m. before closing the tournament against Kent State at 7:00 p.m.
