
Gibson Paces IPFW at Dayton Flyer Invitational

ROUND ONE RESULTS
KETTERING, Ohio - Oliver Gibson carded a career-low 71 (+1) in the first round of the Dayton Flyer Invitational, as the squad stands 14th in the field with a first round 304.
IPFW finished ahead of IUPUI's 310 and Cincinnati State's 312, while sitting just behind St. Bonaventure (302), Wright State (300), Valparaiso (297), Dayton (295), and Loyola (295). Cleveland State leads the field after one round with a 284, just ahead of Western Kentucky, Bradley, and Northern Kentucky, each tied with 288.
Gibson's career-best has him in a tie for 12th after the first 18 holes, while Drake Devereux is tied for 32nd with a 74. Daniel Shepard and Dan Wert finished one stroke apart, Shepard tied for 76th with a 79 and Wert tied for 83rd with an 80.
Jacob Groninger rounded out the Mastodon five with an 81 (tying for 86th), as David Waterson - playing as an individual - carded a 79, also tying for 76th with Shepard.
The squad returns to action tomorrow for the second day of competition at the event.
