Women’s Golf 9th After First Round of Dayton Fall Invite

Round One Results
KETTERING, Ohio - The IPFW women's golf team sits ninth out of 18 teams after the first round of the Dayton Fall Invitational with a team score of 321. The 'Dons sit just one stroke back of eighth place Northern Kentucky and just four shots out of fifth.
The two-day, 36-hole event is being held at NCR Country Club on its par-70 North Course. Detroit leads the team standings after shooting a 306 with host Dayton in second with a team score of 310. Dayton's Maggie Prokop sits atop the 96-player leaderboard shooting a 3-over-par 73 for the round.
Leading the IPFW squad for the day was Ashton Taft who currently sits in a tie for 13th after tying a season-low score of 77 on the afternoon. Taft recorded par on 12 holes, which ranked second on the day. Allison Curtis finished the round with an 80 to tie for 82nd. The duo of Sydney Bailey and Brenna Sherwood carded rounds of 82 to finish tied for 46th. Taylor Lamphier rounded out the team scoring for the 'Dons shooting a 91 to sit in a tie for 91st after the first round of play.
The final round begins tomorrow morning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
