
Mastodons Climb to 15th at Ball State Preview

FINAL RESULTS
FISHERS, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons climbed up a spot in the team rankings from the first day to the second day, as the squad placed 15th at the Ball State 2013 Preview.
The Mastodons finished the two-day event with a team score of 690, ahead of Cleveland State's 700. Toledo won the event with rounds of 304 and 307 (611 total), as host Ball State took second with a 618 (311-307) with Eastern Kentucky (323-309) and Eastern Michigan (314-318) tying for third place overall.
For the second straight day, Allison Curtis paced the team, this time by carding an 83, giving her a two-day total of 167, good for a tie of 52nd place in the field. Sydney Bailey took second on the team in the second round with an 86, and her two day total of 175 (89-86) was good for a tie of 73rd.
Brenna Sherwood's 88 on the final round gave her a 173 for the two days (85-88), tying for 67th in the field. Taylor Lamphier was the final scoring Mastodon on the second day of the tournament, and her 180 (91-89) put her 84th. Ashton Taft carded a final-round score of 91, and her 177 (86-91) tied for 79th. Playing as an individual in her first event as a collegian, freshman Candi Keller placed 94th with a 199 (102-97).
The squad closes out its 2013 fall season on October 21 and 22 when the squad competes at the Dayton Fall Invitational, hosted at the NCR Country Club in Dayton, Ohio.
