Women's Golf Sits 10th at Butler's Benbow Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The IPFW women's golf team sits 10th at the Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler University.
The Mastodons have 358 strokes through the first 18 holes of the tournament, whie Appalachian State and Cleveland State leade the field with a 327. Bethune-Cookman (330), Butler (332), and IUPUI (333) round out the top five teams in the field.
Allison Curtis carded an 84 to tie for 17th in the opening round to lead the Mastodons. Brenna Sherwood shot an 88 to tie for 34th, while Alyssa Turney carded a 92 for a tie of 46th.
Taylor Lamphier rounded out the scoring players for the Mastodons with a 94, good for 50th, while the Mastodon fifth golfer, Ashton Taft, shot a 102.
Sydney Bailey, playing as an individual, shot a 95 in the opening round.
The team returns to action on Tuesday on the second of two days of the Benbow Invitational.
