JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Behind rounds of 88 and 89 from Alyssa Turney and Sydney Bailey, the IPFW Mastodons stand fifth at the Bulldog Florida Invitational hosted by Butler University.

Butler leads the field with 323 points, while Alabama State is second with 333, Eastern Illinois third with a 344, California Baptist fourth with 361, and the Mastodons in fifth with a team score of 366.

Turney carded nine-hole scores of 47 and 41 for her 88, placing in a tie for 16th, with Bailey going 46-43 for an 89, placing 18th. Ashton Taft finished third for the Mastodons with a first-round 93 (24th place), while Allison Curtis and Brenna Sherwood tied for the fourth spot on the squad, each carding a 96, tied for 27th overall.

Golfing as an individual, Taylor Lamphier shot a 92 (43-49), tied for 22nd overall in the competition.

The Mastodons return for their fourth and final day of action during the week on Thursday, March 14.
