Women's Golf Stands Eighth after Second Round of Summit Championships

KELLER, Texas - With a round to play at the 2013 Summit League Championships, the IPFW Mastodons sit in eighth place overall, and are within three strokes of seventh place in the field.
IPFW carded a second-round 343, two strokes better than their opening round, and has a 688 after two rounds. South Dakota State sits just ahead of IPFW with a 685, with Western Illinois (673) just ahead of them. North Dakota State has a 24-stroke lead on the field after the second day with a 619, while Kansas City (643), Omaha (655), IUPUI (657), and Oakland (671) round out the top five times in the competition.
Sydney Bailey led IPFW on the second day with an 81, while Allison Curtis' 85 was second-lowest on the team. Alyssa Turney (87), and Ashton Taft (90) rounded out the scoring four for the 'Dons, while Taylor Lamphier carded a 94.
Thus far on the weekend, Curtis has a two-round score of 163, tying her for 10th place in the field, while Ashton Taft's 173 ties her for 28th. Bailey sits 10 places back in a tie for 38th with a 181, while Turney is a shot behind with a 182, in 40th place, as Lamphier is tied for 41st with a 183.
The nine teams in the field return to action for the third and final day of competition at the 2013 Championships.
