'Dons Take Seventh at SIU Edwardsville Intercollegiate

FINAL RESULTS
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Ashton Taft carded a 77, while teammate Allison Curtis carded a 79, as the IPFW Mastodons shot a second-round 322, placing seventh at the 2013 SIUE Intercollegiate.
IPFW's 322 was 18 strokes better than their first round, as their 662 put them in seventh place in the field, 12 dozen strokes out of fourth. Valparaiso took the team championship with a 639, while Lipscomb shot a 642 and SIU Edwardsville 647. Omaha (650), Evansville (656), and Western Illinois (656) each finished just ahead of the Mastodons, while Eastern Illinois (695), Tennessee State (702), and Ashford (718) rounded out the ten teams in the field.
Taft's total gave her a 163 for the tournament, tying for 14th place, while Curtis' 79 gave her a 162, good for 13th place overall.
Sydney Bailey shot an 81, third-best on the squad for the round, while her 168th was also the third best, tying for 28th place in the field. Taylor Lamphier shot an 85 to round out the scoring four for the 'Dons on the day, while her 171 tied her with sophomore Brenna Sherwood, whose second-day 86 also gave her a 171, and a split of 33rd place.
The squad returns to action after a weekend break with the Ball State preview on October 7 and 8 at the Hawthorns Country Club.
