Women's Golf Tied For Eighth After First Round at UD Invite

KETTERING, Ohio - The IPFW women's golf team kicked off the first round of the Dayton Fall Invitational with a score of 321 to sit in a tie for eighth place with Northern Kentucky.
Hosted by the University of Dayton at the par-70 NCR Country Club North Course, the tournament is being played at 5,872 yards. After 18 holes Butler leads the field with a score of 303. Jenna Peters of Butler and Casey MacNeil of Chicago State are tied atop of the 93-player field with rounds of even-par 72.
The Mastodons sit one stroke back of seventh place SIUE and two back of Chicago State who is in sixth.
After day one, Allison Curtis who is tied for 18th with a 78 leads IPFW. Two strokes back in a tie for 30th place is Monica Dorner. Brenna Sherwood carded an 81 for the round and sits 38th overall. Tied for 51st is Sydney Bailey with an 82 on the day. Ashton Taft wrapped up the team scoring for the 'Dons with a round of 84 and is tied for 60th place.
Playing as individuals for the Mastodons are Jenna Kurosky and Madison Chesnutt. In her first collegiate round, Kurosky shot an 86 and is tied for 70th place. Chesnutt closed out her first round in a tie for 78th with an 88 for the day.
The final round of the Dayton Fall Invitational will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on October 21.
