IPFW Basketball Holds Mastodon Madness

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - In front of a loud and boisterous crowd at the Gates Sports Center, the 2014-15 IPFW Basketball Teams hosted Mastodon Madness, introducing the Fort Wayne community to this seasons' basketball squads.
Fans were not only treated to,competitions for team three-point shooting, one-on-one three-point shooting, and a dunk contest, but also the unveiling of a new mascot, Big Blue.
In the men's vs. women's three-point shooting contest, Max Landis of the men's basketball team topped Haley Seibert, while the team of Courtney Ogle, Kevin Harden, and an IPFW Blue Crew Member topped the three-person squad of Mur Hagerman, Herbert Graham, and another Blue Crew Member.
Capping off the evening, senior guard Isaiah McCray beat out dunk contest finalist John Konchar to take the dunk contest honors, while Gage Davis and Michael Calder also competed in the event.
After the conclusion of the event, the men's and women's basketball teams signed autographs for the fans in attendance.
The IPFW men's and women's basketball teams each open their 2014-15 season on November 14, the men hosting Manchester and the women at Illinois.
