'Dons Tied For Fourth After Opening Round At Cougar Golf Classic

CHICAGO - After a windy first round at the Cougar Golf Classicl, the IPFW women's golf team is tied with UIC with a round of 336.
Hosted by Chicago State at the Harborside International Golf Center's Port Course, the par-72 course is being played at 5,977 yards. Green Bay leads the team standings after the first day with a team score of 327, holding a two-stroke lead over host Chicago State and Lewis. Avery Steen of Green Bay sits atop the individual leaderboard with a round of 5-over-par 77.
Brenna Sherwood leads the Mastodons through 18 holes carding an 81 to finish in fourth place. Allison Curtis, Sydney Bailey, and Monica Dorner are all tied in 14th place with rounds of 85, respectively. Ashton Taft rounded out the scoring for the 'Dons in 29th place with a 95 for the day.
The final round of the Cougar Golf Classic will be a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
