Sherwood And Mastodons Place Fifth At Cougar Golf Classic

CHICAGO - After the final round of the Cougar Golf Classic, the IPFW women's golf team placed fifth with a two-day score of 660. The Mastodons made a 12-stroke improvement from the first round.

Hosted by Chicago State at the Harborside International Golf Center's Port Course, the par-72 course was played at 5,977 yards. Chicago State won the team title with a score of 641. Hannah Schultz of Lewis took home the individual medalist honors with a 36-hole score of 154.

Brenna Sherwood paced the Mastodons with a fifth place finish, shooting a tournament total 160. Allison Curtis shot a team-best final round 78, finishing the tournament in a tie for 11th place with a 163. Monica Dorner carded a two-day score of 169 and finished in 17th place. Sydney Bailey came in two spots back in 19th place with a 171 over 36 holes. Ashton Taft placed 24th, improving by 12 strokes in her final trip around Harborside to finish the tournament at 178.

IPFW next competes at the two-day F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, which begins on October 13.
