
Team Effort Pushes Men's Cross Country to 29th Place Finish

MADISON, Wis. - A pack of Mastodons that finished within a minute of each other pushed themselves to a 29th place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, hosted by the University of Wisconsin.
The Mastodons totaled 979 points, ahead of Evansville (993), and just behind Green Bay (906). Host Wisconsin won the event with 61 points, while Michigan State totaled 82 and Michigan 94.
Gabe O'Keefe was the team's top finisher in a time of 34:51, good for 192nd place, with Jordan Holloman finishing 20 seconds behind in 35:11, placing 194th.
Garret Gleckler and Bret Unger finished back-to-back, Gleckler in 196th with a time of 35:18 and Unger 197th in 35:26. Kurt Unger finished 200th overall in a time of 35:51, 59 seconds behind the Mastodons' top finisher.
Paul Smith (202nd/36:12) and Ryan Curtis (204th/36:26) rounded out the seven Mastodons in the field.
