The Golden Eagles put away what proved to be the game-winning goal in the first half as senior forward Megan Giles found the back of the net in the 23rd minute. The home team extended its lead in the 82nd minute on an own goal off an IPFW defender to secure the win.
Outside of the lone goal in the first half and own goal in the waning minutes, the game was played pretty evenly between two squads, with Oral Roberts edging out IPFW in shots 16-13 overall. Oral Roberts also won the corner kick battle 5-3, while the 'Dons had seven saves to the Golden Eagles' six.
Freshman Taylor Pavlika led the way on the offensive side of the ball with four shots in the game, with Gaby Romo and Rachel Good collecting two shots each.
