Women's Golf Finishes Fifth To Open Spring Season

MURRAY, Ky. - Competing in its first spring event, the IPFW women's golf team finished fifth at the Time Warner Racer Classic with rounds of 334-320-654.
Hosted by Murray State at the Miller Memorial Golf Course, the par-72 course was played at 6,017 yards. The host Racers won the team title with a two-round total of 600. Delaney Howson from Murray State and Brianna Scheidler of Indianapolis shared the medalist honors with 36-hole scores of 146.
The Mastodons finished two shots behind fourth place Lipscomb.
Leading IPFW was Allison Curtis firing rounds of 81-77-158 to finish in a tie for 13th. Breanna Sherwood finished in 23rd after shooting a two-round total of 81-77-158. A second round score of 79 by Taylor Lamphier was a season-low, finishing with her lowest 36-hole total of the year, 165, to tie for 26th. Sydney Bailey tied for 30th, carding a two-round score of 87-82-169. Rounding out the team scoring for the Mastodons was Ashton Taft with rounds of 99-90-189 to finish 38th.
IPFW returns to the course for the two-day Bulldog Florida Invitational beginning March 12, hosted by Butler at the Windsor Parke Golf Course in Jacksonville, Fla.
