Mastodons Sixth After First Round of Falcon Invite

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - After the first round of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, the IPFW women's golf team sits in sixth place with a score of 317, sitting two strokes out of third.
Hosted by Bowling Green State University at the par-72 Stone Ridge Golf Club, the course is being played at 5,960 yards. Ball State has a one-stroke lead after day one, with a team score of 304. Sydney MacDonald of South Dakota State and Meghan Perry of Ball State are tied atop the 90-player field with first day scores of 1-over-par 73.
The first round 317 by the 'Dons is the second best round of the season for the squad, surpassed only by their first round 313 at the IPFW Spring Classic.
Ashton Taft and Allison Curtis led the Mastodons tying for 13th place, shooting a 78 for the round. Brenna Sherwood sits one shot back in a tie for 21st, carding a 79 on the day. Taylor Lamphier shot an 82 on the afternoon to tie for 43rd. Sydney Bailey rounded out the scoring for IPFW, recording an 86 to finish the round in a tie for 71st.
The final round of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on April 13.
