Women's Golf Sixth After Day One Of Summit League Championship

KELLER, Texas - After the first round of The Summit League Women's Golf Championship, IPFW sits in sixth place, shooting a 329 to begin the three-day tournament.
Hosted at the par-72 Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club, the tournament is being played at 6,119 yards. Denver leads by 14-stroke over the field, carding a 295 on the opening day, holding four of the top five individual spots. The Pioneers Mariell Bruun carded an even-par 72 on the day to lead the 38-player field by two strokes.
IPFW sits five strokes out of fourth place behind IUPUI (324) and Western Illinois (325).
Leading the Mastodons after day one is Ashton Taft who sits in a tie for 14th place, shooting an 80 for the round. Taft was one of two players to record a birdie on the par-3 No. 17. One shot back in a tie for 18th is Taylor Lamphier who carded a birdie on the par-4 No. 13. Allison Curtis finished her day in a tie for 21st with an 81 for the round, as she birdied the par-5 No. 12. Brenna Sherwood fired an 86 on the day to sit in a tie for 28th heading into the second round. Sydney Bailey ended the day in 37th place with a 92 to round out the team scoring for IPFW.
The second round of the women's Summit League Championship will begin at 9:30 a.m. (ET) off the No. 10 tee.
