Women's Golf Improves On Day Two at Summit League Championship

KELLER, Texas - After the second round of The Summit League Women's Golf Championship, the IPFW team remained in sixth place, shooting a 328 on the day for a two-day score of 657.
Hosted at the par-72 Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club, the tournament is being played at 6,119 yards. Denver improved its lead over the field with a 595 through 36 holes. The Pioneers Mariell Bruun continues to lead the individual standings with a 2-over-par 146.
For the second straight day Ashton Taft led the Mastodons, firing a 79 on the day. Taft ended her round with four consecutive pars, and is tied for 11th place in the tournament with a two-round score of 159.
Allison Curtis and Brenna Sherwood sit in a tie for 23rd after two rounds with scores of 166, respectfully. Curtis finished her day with an 84, which included a birdie on the 482-yard par-5 No.15. Meanwhile, Sherwood birdied the 489-yard par-5 No.7 to finish the day with an 80, a six-stroke improvement from day one.
In a tie for 30th is Taylor Lamphier with a two-day total of 172, after shooting a 91 for the round. Sydney Bailey rounds out the standings for the 'Dons in 35th place with a 36-hole score of 177. Bailey carded an 85 and was one of two players on the day to record a birdie on No. 8, a par-3 134-yard hole.
The final round of The Summit League Women's Championship will begin at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) off the No. 1 tee, Wednesday, April 23 at Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
