
IPFW Honors Student-Athletes at 2014 Awards Banquet

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Luis Jacobo of the men's basketball team and Amanda Hyde of the women's basketball team were recognized as the Male and Female Athletes of the Year at the 2014 IPFW Awards Banquet held at the Hotel Fort Wayne Marquis Ballroom.
The banquet honored members of every team, in addition to specific all-athletic awards.

Mo Evans of the men's basketball program was named the Male Freshman of the Year, with Mayu Sato being named the Female Freshman of the Year.
Seven IPFW student-athletes were recognized as David R. Skelton Award Nominees: Kyle Ackerman of the men's soccer team, Kayla Boyes of the women's cross country/track & field teams, JW Kieckhefer of the men's volleyball team, Rachel Mauk and Stefanie Mauk of the women's basketball team, and Malcolm White of the baseball team. The winner of the 2014 David R. Skelton Award went to Hailie Ripley from the women's volleyball program.
Tim Saltys of the men's cross country team was the recipient of the Student-Athlete Sportsmanship Award, and the women's volleyball program earned a team honor as they won the 2014 Mastodon Cup.
Kevin Villela of the men's volleyball program earned the Senior Academic Excellence Award. Amanda Hyde and Mayu Sato were recognized on Sunday evening after earning the Ian and Mimi Rolland Award, an award given to any player who was named a Player of the Year in the conference.
The IPFW Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) Service to Student-Athletes Award went to Dylan Senff, the Mastodon mascot. The Tony Laux Volunteer of the Year award went to Mark Franke, while the Fan of the Year was presented to Steve Walley.
The following student-athletes were selected to individual team honors by their respective coaches.
