Women's Golf Finishes Eighth at Whistling Straits

KOHLER, Wis. - The IPFW women's golf team placed eighth at the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate, shooting a 54-hole score of 1,036. The Mastodons finished 12 strokes back of seventh place Wagner and nine shots better than in-state rival Valparaiso.

Hosted by Loyola Chicago at the par-72, 6,100-yard The Meadow Valleys at Blackwolf Run, Richmond claimed the team championship with a two-day score of 967. Paige VanDyk from Northern Iowa was the individual medalist with a combined score of 232.

Brenna Sherwood paced the Mastodons, finishing the tournament in a tie for 17th place with a 54-hole score of 253. Monica Dorner recorded the lowest final-round score for the 'Dons with an 84, shooting a 261 for the week and finishing tied for 30th. Standing alone in 36th place was Candi Keller with a two-day score of 265. Jenna Kurosky and Paige Bird finished two strokes back in a tie for 37th with scores of 267, respectively.

IPFW closes out its fall season October 19 and 20 at the Dayton Fall Invitational.
