10/16/2015 10:19:00 PM | Women's Soccer
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A first half set piece was just enough for IPFW women's soccer to fall against Summit League opponent Denver on a cold Friday night. The loss snaps the Mastodon's six match streak of earning a point, as the Blue and White went 4-0-2 during the stretch.
Following a foul to the left of the goal in the 20th minute, the Pioneers' Stella Norman took a free kick from 23 yards out to find Brooke Boothe for the header. The set piece was the difference in the match as IPFW fell 1-0.
Kiley Dunning continued her overall dominance in net, making seven saves. Friday's match was Dunning's 11th match with at least five saves, as she is tied 17th in Division I women's soccer for most saves per game (6.71).
Rachel Good placed two shots on goal for the 'Dons as Erin Gill, Andie Lazzerini, and Malissa Hofmeister each added another. Denver finished with six total saves as the Pioneer goalkeeper earned five. Additionally, the 'Dons edged the Pios 3-2 in corner kicks.
The Blue and White now turn its attention to a Sunday afternoon match against Oral Roberts at the Hefner Soccer Complex at 1 p.m.
