Men's Golf Concludes Fall Season at Dayton Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - The fall season for the IPFW men's golf team came to a close at the Dayton Flyer Invitational as the Mastodons tied for 11th place with a two-day score of 624. The Mastodons and Northern Kentucky finished tied, one shot back of ninth place.
Hosted by Dayton at the par-71, 7,055-yard NCR Country Club - South Course, Detroit secured the team trophy by five shots over Oakland with a 36-hole score of 598. Wil Wittmann of Detroit also captured the individual medalist honors after defeating IUPUI's Austin Winings in a one-hole playoff. At the end of two rounds, Wittmann and Winings were tied with a 4-over-par 146 for the tournament.
One stroke separated Jacob Groninger and Devin Jenkins atop the Mastodon leaderboard. Groninger finished tied for 20th with a 153 while Jenkins was tied for 26th shooting a two-day total of 154. Oliver Gibson matched a season-low with a final-round 76 to end the fall with a 157 to tie for 46th place. Finishing the week tied for 70th with a 36-hole score of 162 was Zach Schroeder. Tyler Meyer closed out the team scoring with a 169 and tying for 96th overall.
Playing as an individual, David Watterson carded a 167 to tie for 90th place.
