
Men's Basketball Looks to Continue Win Streak on Saturday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's basketball team will look to extend its four-game win streak on Saturday evening when the team plays host to the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles at the Gates Sports Center.

The Mastodons come into the Saturday evening game riding a season-best four-game win streak, the longest active win streak in the Summit League.
In the team's last game, an 84-74 win over Summit League leader South Dakota, the Mastodons trailed by two with 4:02 to play in the first half before IPFW opened a 7-0 run, and never trailed again in the contest.
Four Mastodons reached double-figure scoring in the win, led by Steve Forbes who scored 23 points, hitting 9-of-12 shots from the field. Max Landis scored 19 points - an IPFW career high - going 7-of-7 from the charity stripe, as Isaiah McCray scored 14 and Joe Edwards 12. Forbes pulled down six rebounds to lead the team, as Mo Evans dished out five assists. Four players - McCray, Edwards, Michael Calder, and Joe Reed - each had two steals.
Six players for IPFW average at least 7.5 points per game, led by Forbes' average of 14.6 points per game. Edwards averages 10.8 and Evans 10.1, while Reed (9.0), McCray (8.7), and Landis (7.9) are just off of the double-figure pace.
Forbes leads the team's rebounders, averaging 6.5 points per game, while McCray and Reed average over five rebounds per game, with IPFW out-rebounding its opponents 33.4-to-31.6 on the year. The team's last game was the first time in the last 10 games that an opponent has out-rebounded IPFW, a streak that dates back to the Summit League opener on January 2.
Evans dishes out 3.4 assists per game, with Edwards (2.5) and McCray (2.2) averaging over two assists per contest. McCray leads the team in steals (29) and blocked shots (21), while Edwards is close behind in steals with 26.

In the team's last game, a 78-68 win at IUPUI, the Jaguars led by five at 20-15 before Oral Roberts ran off a 22-5 run over the final six minutes of the first half and first three minutes of the second stanza. The ORU lead grew to as many as 15 points, before IUPUI began its slow fight back, climbing back to within as few as six with a minute and a half left; however, a game-ending 8-3 run gave the game its 78-68 final margin for head coach Scott Sutton's 300th career victory.
Korey Billbury scored a game-high 20 points while pulling down 10 rebounds, as Obi Emegano added 17 points. Brandon Conley and Denell Henderson each scored a dozen points.
For the season, the Oral Roberts is led by a pair of primary scorers - Emegano and Billbury. The pair are the highest scoring duo in the Summit League this season, and average 17.5 and 14.6 points per game, respectively.
