Sherwood and Curtis Lead IPFW to Fourth Place Finish

CARBONDALE, Ill. - With a final round team score of 325, the IPFW women's golf team wrapped up the Saluki Invitational in fourth place with a 36-hole score of 665. The Mastodons topped Summit League rival Omaha by 13 strokes.

Hosted by South Illinois at the par-72 Hickory Ridge Golf Course, the tournament was played at 6,018 yards. The host Salukis captured the team title shooting a final round 311 to win by one stroke over SIUE with a tournament total 636. Mattie Lindner of Southern Illinois also took home medalist honors with a two-day score of 6-over-par 150.

Allison Curtis and Brenna Sherwood led the way for the 'Dons, carding scores of 164 to finish the tournament in a tie for 13th place. Ashton Taft carded an 84 for the second consecutive day to close out the tournament with a 168 and finish 26th overall. One stroke back in a tie for 27th was Sydney Bailey. Madison Chesnutt ended the invitational tied for 41st with a 36-hole score of 177 to wrap up the team scoring for the Mastodons.

The team returns to action when they host the IPFW Spring Classic April 5-6 at Pine Valley Country Club.
