Mastodons Finish Ninth at Summit League Championship

LOMPOC, Calif. - The IPFW men's golf team closed out its season finishing ninth at the Summit League Championship with a three-day score of 978. The Mastodons carded a 325 in their final round of the tournament.

Hosted at the par-72 La Purisima Golf Course, the course was played at 7,055 yards. South Dakota jumped two spots on the final day to capture the team championship with a 54-hole score of 909. Jose Pablo Segurola of IUPUI also came back on the final day to win the individual title with a 3-over-par 219.

Daniel Shepard capped off the tournament with a team-best 79, to finish the 54-hole tournament in 29th place with a 240. Finishing the weekend in a tie for 33rd, David Watterson shot a final-round 81 to finish with a score of 242. Clark Tiller capped off his first Summit League Championship with a pair of birdies on Nos. 4 and 7, carding a 246 to place 39th. Devin Jenkins wrapped up his season with a three-day score of 255 to finish 43rd. Drake Devereux closed out the team scoring for the 'Dons with a 256 to end the tournament in 44th place.
