Mastodons Close Out The Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. - The IPFW women's golf team shot a final round 325 to finish 16th at the Cardinal Classic with a 54-hole team score of 967.
Hosted by Ball State at the par-72, 6,204-yard Players Club, Eastern Kentucky claimed the team title by 23 strokes over Eastern Michigan with a two-day score of 867. Kelsey Murphy of Eastern Michigan took home individual medalist honors, topping the 86-player field with a 54-hole score of 5-under-par 211.
Brenna Sherwood claimed the top spot for the Mastodons, tying for 49th after a final-round 80 to end the tournament with a score of 236. Candi Keller carded an 83 for the final round to finish tied for 65th with a 243. Abigail Carlsen closed out her first collegiate tournament in 67th place, shooting a team-low 79 in the final round to finish at 244. Madison Chesnutt and Monica Dorner ended the tournament tied for 73rd with scores of 249, respectively.
IPFW returns to action October 4-5 for the Roseann Schwartz Invitational hosted by Youngstown State.
