Bird and Chesnutt Lead Mastodons on Day One of Flyer Invite

KETTERING, Ohio - Through 18 holes of the Dayton Flyer Invitational, the Fort Wayne women's golf team is tied for 10th place after shooting a combined score of 324.
Hosted by Dayton as the par-70, 5,872-yard NCR Country Club - North Course, Oakland and Findlay are tied for the team lead with scores of 299. Reva Morris of Youngstown State shot an even-par 70 on the day and leads the 84-player field by one stroke.
The Mastodons enter the final day tied with in-state rival IUPUI, and are two shots back of ninth place Northern Kentucky.
Madison Chesnutt and Paige Bird led the team, shooting rounds of 80 on the day to finish tied for 37th place. Two strokes back in a tie for 49th are Jenna Kurosky and Monica Dorner with a pair of 82's for the round. Linnzie Richner rounded out the team scoring for the 'Dons with an 88 and end the day tied for 77th overall.
Abigail Carlsen and Candi Keller played as individuals. Carlsen carded an 88 to tie for 77th place while Keller's 89 puts her 81st overall heading into the final day.
The final round of the Dayton Flyer Invitational will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday, October 18.
