Women's Volleyball Falls in Summit League Quarterfinals

DENVER - The Fort Wayne women's volleyball team saw its season come to a close as the Mastodons fell to Oral Roberts in the quarterfinals of the Summit League Championship 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-23). The 'Dons end their season with an overall record of 13-18.
Nicole Rightnowar led the Mastodons with five kills and a match-high nine digs. Madison Jaqua led Fort Wayne with 10 assist. Natalie Seiler, Lauren Hoffman and Somer Johnson each finished with four kills. Johnson ends her career with 1,210 kills, 11th all-time in team history.
In her final match for the 'Dons, Olivia Hahn had eight digs, giving her 1,398 for her career, which is ninth in program history. Natasha Medic led the team with three blocks in her final match as a Mastodon.
With Fort Wayne up 5-4 in the opening set, Oral Roberts used a 10-2 run to take the lead and eventually the set. In the second with the score tied 4-4, the Golden Eagles scored six of the next seven points as the 'Dons were unable to pull closer than two points down the stretch.
Oral Roberts took an early lead in the third. Fort Wayne fought back with a 6-1 run to pull within one, 23-22, but ORU scored two of the next three points to win the match.
