
Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Saluki Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The IPFW women's golf team wrapped up the Saluki Invitational in 10th place, shooting a final-round 332 to finish with a team score of 649.
Hosted by Southern Illinois at the par-72 Hickory Ridge Golf Course, the tournament was played at 6,018 yards. IUPUI took home the team title with a two-day score of 310, defeating William Woods on the second hole of a playoff. Jessica Cathey of Austin Peay captured the individual medalist honors by two strokes with a 36-hole score of even-par 144.
IPFW finished nine shots back of Summit League foe Omaha for ninth place.
Madison Chesnutt led the 'Dons on the final day to finish tied for 25th overall with a two-day score of 159. Brenna Sherwood ended her tournament in a tie for 36th after shooting a 161. Abigail Carlsen wrapped up the invitational with a 36-hole score of 164 to end the week tied for 45th. Finishing tied for 52nd was Jenna Kurosky with a combined score of 167. Candi Keller capped off the scoring for the Mastodons in a tie for 65th place, carding a 172 over the two rounds.
Individually, Paige Bird shot a 167 to tie for 52nd overall. Maggie Connelly carded a 185 for the tournament to finish in 81st position.
The final tournament before the Summit League Championship will be IPFW's annual Spring Classic. The two-day event begins April 3 at the Pine Valley Country Club.
