Fort Wayne Tops Eastern Illinois 2-0 For First Win of the Season

WESTFIELD, Ind. – Senior Malissa Hofmeister and freshman Chloee Foor each netted a goal in Fort Wayne's 2-0 victory over Eastern Illinois at the Grand Park Complex.
Hofmeister's goal came in the first minute of the second half on a one-touch shot after a well-placed pass from Foor.
Foor chased down a loose ball late in minute 74 in the penalty box and chipped it in over Panther keeper Sara Teteak. It was Foor's second goal in as many games.
When all was said and done, Fort Wayne (1-1-0) out-shot Eastern Illinois (0-2-0) 16-3. Senior Kiley Dunning logged 90 minutes in goal, earning her first clean sheet of the year.
The Mastodons will be back in action on Thursday (Aug. 25) against Saint Louis at 7 p.m.
