Chesnutt and Keller Lead Mastodons on Day One of the Season

LEDBETTER, Ky. - After the opening day of the 2016-17 season, the Fort Wayne women's golf team sits in ninth place at the Drake Creek Invitational with a two-round score of 334-324-658.
Hosted by Murray State at the par-72, 6,178-yard Drake Creek Golf Course, Western Kentucky holds an eight-stroke lead over the host Racers with a one-day score of 594. Four players are tied atop the 69-player field with scores of 2-over-par 146.
Candi Keller (84-77) and Madison Chesnutt (81-80) led the Mastodons in a tie for 44th place on the day with scores of 161. Abigail Carlsen shot rounds of 85-81-166 to cap the afternoon tied for 49th overall. Ending the 36 holes in 59th place was Jenna Kurosky with rounds of 84-89-173. Two shots back in a tie for 62nd and rounding out the team scoring for the 'Dons was Linnzie Richner (89-86).
The final round of the Drake Creek Invitational will be a 9:30 a.m. ET shotgun start.
