Keller Paces Mastodons During First Day of Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. - After the first day of the Cardinal Classic, the Fort Wayne women's golf team is in 16th place with a two-round score of 321-319-640.
Hosted by Ball State at the par-72, 6,204-yard The Players Club at Woodland Trails, Eastern Kentucky holds a nine-stroke lead heading into the final round of the team standings. Elsa Moberly also of EKU sits atop the individual leaderboard by one shot with a 36-hole score of 3-under-par 141.
The Mastodons enter the final day nine strokes back of 15th place Dayton. Candi Keller paced the Mastodons on the day with rounds of 82-75-157 to finish tied for 56th. Monica Dorner led the team with four birdies to end the day tied for 72nd with scores of 76-85-161. Madison Chesnutt (80-83) and Abigail Carlsen (83-80) enter the final round tied for 78th with scores of 163. Paige Bird rounded out the team scoring for the 'Dons, carding an 86-81-167 to sit in a tie for 83rd.
The final round of the Cardinal Classic will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
