The Coyotes of South Dakota had a quick pair of goals scores in the 26th and 27th minute, just 57 seconds apart. Taryn LaBree scored the first, and Kellee Willer netted the second. Hecht scored the first half goal for the Mastodons in minute 32, ripping a shot inside the six-yard box from Paityn Fleming. USD scored a third in the first half and went into the locker room with a 3-1 advantage.
In the second half, the scoring continued, as South Dakota netted another goal just 104 seconds into the half. Hecht took a shot inside the 18 from Kallianne Mogler that found the back of the net. Mogler extended her program leading career assist total to 14. Hecht almost had a goal for a hat trick when she took a free kick that hit the crossbar.
Hecht now has four goals on the year, which moves her into third place on single-season goals scored by a player in their junior season.
Hecht continued her eventful evening with an assist on the third goal of the night. Kendall Quinn scored her fourth goal of the year from just outside the six-yard box in minute 63. South Dakota scored a trio of goals in the second half that put the match out of reach.
