Mastodons Earn Road Sweep Over Jackrabbits

BROOKINGS, S.D. - The Fort Wayne women's volleyball team made quick work of South Dakota State, as the Mastodons earned a road sweep 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-14).
Katie Crowe led the 'Dons with 11 kills on the night to go along with nine digs. Elizabeth Fuerst and Nicole Rightnowar each had 10 kills, while Sydney Boerst had eight and hit .429. Madison Jaqua made a match-high 38 assists and Elizabeth Britner had a match-high 15 digs.
In the opening set, Fort Wayne scored the first three points, as it never trailed in the frame. The 'Dons trailed 14-12 in the second, but the squad rallied with five straight points, and 10 of the next 12, to win the set. It was all Mastodons in the final set as Fort Wayne scored the first six points en route to the sweep.
The Mastodons return to the Hoosier state for a road trip to in-state rival Valparaiso on Tuesday, October 17, at 7 p.m. ET
