Mastodons Jump One Spot on Final Day of Flyer Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne women's golf team jumped one spot on the final day of the Dayton Flyer Invitational, as the Mastodons carded a 320 to finish in 12th place with a 36-hole score of 651.
Hosted by Dayton at the par-70 NCR Country Club, North Course, the tournament was played at 5,826 yards. Findlay captured the team trophy with a two-day total of 595. There was a three-way tie for the individual medalist honors at 5-over-par 145. Aneta Abrahamova from IUPUI defeated Bridget Connolly of Western Illinois and Ellie Cronin of Dayton on the fifth playoff hole.
The Mastodons passed Bowling Green on the final day to best the Falcons by one shot.
Monica Dorner led Fort Wayne in the tournament, shooting a 159 to finish tied for 39th. Linnzie Richner carded the lowest round of the day for the 'Dons, shooting a 78, and tie for 49th with a two-day score of 163. Madison Chesnutt and Jenna Kurosky carded scores of 166 to finish tied for 58th. Paige Bird carded an 81 on the final day to round out to team scoring, tying for 85th place with a 36-hole score of 180.
Individually, Abigail Carlsen finished at 169 to tie for 69th place. Hannah Jennings ended the week in 82nd position with a final score of 177. Maggie Connelly tied for 83rd place with a two-day score of 179.
Fort Wayne closes out its fall season at the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate October 23-24 in Evansville, Indiana.
