BROOKINGS, S.D. - The Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell at South Dakota State on Thursday (Oct. 19) 2-0 at Fishback Field.
Fort Wayne and South Dakota State were scoreless in the first half, which marked the eighth opponent this season that the Mastodons did not allow to score in the first 45 minutes.
Leah Manuleleua scored the first goal for the Jackrabbits, knocking in a one-touch shot near the post after a corner. Rachel Hewitt scored the second goal about 20 minutes later, also after a corner kick from a fellow Jackrabbit.
Haley Lydon saw her first action since September 24 against Loyola Chicago. Kailyn Wade, Hannah Kroger and Deanna Hecht each had a shot on goal on the night.
Fort Wayne falls to 1-14-0, 0-4-0 Summit League, while SDSU improves to 8-4-3, 4-0 Summit League. The Mastodons continue their road trip with a matchup at North Dakota State on Sunday (Oct. 22) at 1 p.m. EST.
