Dorner Leads the Way for Mastodons at Butler Fall Invite

INDIANAPOLIS - The Fort Wayne women's golf team wrapped up the Butler Fall Invitational with a final-round 320 to finish in seventh place with a 36-hole score of 650.
Hosted by Butler at the par-70 Highland Golf & Country Club, the tournament was played at 6,035 yards. Indianapolis captured the team title with a two-day score of 579. Sierra Hargens from Indiana State defeated Kylie Raines and Paxton DeHaven of Indianapolis in a playoff to win medalist honors with a 1-over-par 141.
The Mastodons finished the tournament 11 shots back of Youngstown State and four better than Evansville.
Monica Dorner led the 'Dons with a 78 on the day to finish tied for 20th with a tournament total of 158. Jenna Kurosky also carded a 78 during the final day to finish the week with a 162 and tie for 36th place. Linnzie Richner and Paige Bird tied for 43rd with scores of 166. Richner carded an 81 on day two while Bird shot an 85. Maggie Connelly rounded out the team scoring in 51st place with a 170, after shooting an 83 for the round.
Fort Wayne next takes to the course for the Dayton Fall Invitational October 16-17.
