The Mastodons are in the middle of a four-game stretch of contests all part of the Adolph Rupp Classic. Fort Wayne's games at UIC, Kentucky and East Tennessee State are all in the event, as well as Fort Wayne's home game with Delaware State last Wednesday.
SCOUTING THE FLAMES
UIC is 2-1 on the season. They defeated Delaware State 95-55 on Thursday. Dikembe Dixson leads the Flames with 16.0 points per game.

UIC leads the all-time series 2-0. The Flames won 99-80 on Jan. 19, 2002 in Fort Wayne and 85-64 on Feb. 15, 2003 in Chicago.

Bryson Scott took home Summit League Player of the Week honors for his performances last week. The senior from Fort Wayne, Ind. averaged 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals in 26 minutes per game. He recorded a career-high 31 points with eight rebounds at Oakland on Friday. He returned on Sunday to notch 21 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals in a win over Defiance. On the week, he shot 54.3 percent from the field and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line.
"WEIR"-D START
Freshman Matt Weir is averaging 4.3 assists per game (13 total) over his first three collegiate contests. The newcomer recorded two at Oakland, six against Defiance and five against Delaware State. He has seen his minute total increase each contest (16, 24, 27). For comparison sake, in Mo Evans' first three games as a Mastodon, Evans recorded eight total assists against Dayton, IU Kokomo and Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2013. Evans graduated last year with 466 career assists, most in the Division I era for the 'Dons.

Bryson Scott opened the season making 20 consecutive free throws. Scott entered Wednesday's game against Delaware State making all 10 free throws on the season and then started the game making his first 10 attempts to bring his consecutive free throw streak to 20. But it ended with a miss at the line with six minutes left in the game.

Thanks to his 10 free throws against Delaware State, Bryson Scott became the first 'Don to make 10 free throws in a game since Steve Forbes against Stetson on Dec. 3, 2014. Forbes also made 10.

Tionne Rollins (Tallahassee, Fla./Lincoln High School) signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Fort Wayne men's basketball program for the 2018-19 campaign. Rollins (6-2, guard) helped Lincoln High School to a Class 8A State Runner-Up finish in 2017. He was named First Team All-Big Bend. In the classroom, Rollins is an honor roll student with a GPA above 4.00. He comes from a basketball family as his mother Demetria played at Florida A&M from 1989-93.

6-9 senior forward Xzavier Taylor made his first career 3-pointer against Defiance. It was also his first career attempt, making him Fort Wayne's career 3-point leader... (if you want to throw out minimum qualifications of any kind) ... at 100 percent.
