Rightnowar and Jaqua Earn Double Double in Road Loss

MACOMB, Ill. - The Fort Wayne women's volleyball team dropped its road match at Western Illinois 3-1 (27-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-18).
Nicole Rightnowar led the 'Dons with a match-high 18 kills to go along with a team-high 19 digs for her 19th double-double of the season. Elizabeth Fuerst added in 13 kills for the Mastodons. Katie Crowe had nine kills and 16 digs while Natalie Seiler had eight kills.
Madison Jaqua also had a double-double, her ninth of the year, finishing with 33 assists and 14 digs. Victoria Mills contributed with 17 assists and eight digs, and Elizabeth Britner finished with 14 digs.
The 'Dons held a four-point lead late in the first set, but were unable to hang on as WIU scored nine of the next 12 points to win the set. Fort Wayne fought back from an early deficit in the second to tie the score, but the Leathernecks again came back in the end to win the frame. The Mastodons trailed early in the third set, but this time Fort Wayne rallied from three points down with five straight points to take the lead for good. The 'Dons scored the first three points of the final set, but were unable to stop a five-point run by the Leathernecks as they took the lead and the match.
Fort Wayne closes out the regular season when it hosts Senior Night against South Dakota State Saturday, November 11 for a 7 p.m. match.
