SCOUTING THE COMETS
The 4-4 Comets hit the court on Thursday after last playing Dec. 17, in a 78-75 victory over Simpson. Jalen Adams is averaging 26.4 points per game. Tracy Edmond is scoring 19.8 a contest. The NCAA Division III member Comets are scoring 86.9 points per game while surrendering 88.9.

Fort Wayne holds the all-time series lead at 1-0, with a 115-60 victory last season on Jan. 9, 2017. Fort Wayne set school records for single game 3-pointers (21) and assists (35) in the win. The two clubs have also played exhibitions in 2008, 2010 and 2014.

Fort Wayne went 1-1 at the New Orleans Shootout last week. The 'Dons defeated Liberty 75-64 in the first contest of the event. The 'Dons never trailed in the game as Jax Levitch connected on four 3-pointers. The 'Dons fell in the title game the next day to Louisiana Tech 85-76. It was a two-point game with three minutes left before the Bulldogs went on a 7-0 run to seal the contest. Bryson Scott had 27 points in the loss. Fort Wayne's performance at the New Orleans Shootout came after a 92-72 victory at Indiana on Dec. 18.
ON THE INDIANA WIN...
- The 22-point lead the 'Dons had over Indiana at one point is the largest lead they have earned against a Division I opponent this year.
- Fort Wayne made 17 3-pointers. It tied for the fourth most 3-pointers in a game in program history during the Division era (2001 – present). 'Dons also made 17 this year against Delaware State and at Omaha (Jan. 16, 2016) and vs. Manchester (Nov. 21, 2007). It also tied a record for most 3-pointers by an opponent at Assembly Hall.
- Dylan Carl made 4-of-5 3-point attempts in the contest, for a career-high 14 points.
