Richner Cards Five Birdies on Day One of Spring Break Shootout

DADE CITY, Fla. - The Fort Wayne women's golf team is tied for 12th place through the first two rounds of the Spring Break Shootout presented by Srixon Golf with a team score of 322-333-655.

Played at the par-72, 6,325-yard Lake Jovita Golf Club, the tournament is being hosted by Western Kentucky and Southern Mississippi. Boston College and Southern Mississippi are tied for the team lead after day one with combined scores of 590. Nichada Satasuk also of USM leads the 77-player field with a 2-under-par 142.

Madison Chesnutt led the Mastodons on the day in a tie for 28th place with scores of 76-78-154. Linnzie Richner led Fort Wayne with five birdies on the day to sit in a tie for 56th while shooting rounds of 78-83-161. Candi Keller is tied for 61st, finishing the day carding scores of 82-81-163. With a 36-hole score of 86-91-177, Abigail Carlsen is in 75th place. Jenna Kurosky rounds out the team scoring entering the final round in 77th place after recording rounds of 89-91-180.

The 'Dons have a pair of golfers playing as individuals. Tied for 38th is Monica Dorner after recording scores of 77-80-157. Paige Bird carded the only eagle of the day on the par-4, 364-yard No. 16 to finish day one tied for 63rd with rounds of 83-81-164.

The final round of the Spring Break Shootout presented by Srixon Golf will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., tomorrow, March 14.
