Chesnutt's 3-Under-Par on Back Nine Leads Fort Wayne

DADE CITY, Fla. - The Fort Wayne women's golf team finished 12th at the Spring Break Shootout presented by Srixon Golf with a final-round 320 to end the week with a score of 975.
Played at the par-72, 6,325-yard Lake Jovita Golf Club, the tournament was hosted by Western Kentucky and Southern Mississippi. Georgia Southern won the team tile by two strokes with a two-day score of 897. Nichada Satasuk of Southern Mississippi earned individual medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 1-over-par 217.
Madison Chesnutt led the Mastodons with a 3-over-par 75 on the final day, top-10 lowest among the field, to finish tied for 21st with a score of 229. Chesnutt carded a team-best four birdies for the round, including shooting 3-under-par on the back nine. Candi Keller and Linnzie Richner ended the week tied for 59th place with two-day scores of 245. Abigail Carlsen capped off the tournament in 73rd place with a score of 258. Jenna Kurosky rounds out the team scoring for the 'Dons in a tie for 75th with a 262.
Playing as an individual, Paige Bird finished with a score of 252 to tie for 68th place. Monica Dorner was competing as an individual, but she was unable to complete the final round.
Fort Wayne next competes in the Saluki Invitational March 26 and 27.
