CARBONDALE, Ill. - Through the first day of the Saluki Invitational, the Fort Wayne women's golf team sits in ninth place with scores of 324-325-649.

Hosted by Southern Illinois at the par-72 Hickory Ridge Golf Club, the course is being played at 6,017 yards. The host Salukis lead the field with a two-round score of 602. Brooke Cusamano also of Southern Illinois leads the 75-player field with an even-par 144.

The Mastodons enter the final round three shots back of Chicago State and Rend Lake.

Madison Chesnutt carded the lowest round of the day for the 'Dons with a 78 to begin the day, while finishing the day in a tie for 12th with a 158 (78-80). Linnzie Richner sits tied for 24th through two round with a 79-82-161. Monica Dorner recorded a pair of birdies on the day, both coming on the par-3 130-yard No. 8. Dorner fired a pair of 82's on the day and is tied for 37th. Candi Keller carded rounds of 85-81-166 to finish the day in 47th place. Abigail Carlsen rounds out the team scoring in 63rd place, shooting a 36-hole score of 177 (87-90).

Playing as individuals, Paige Bird and Jenna Kurosky each carded a pair of birdies on the day. Bird recorded her birdies on Nos. 10 and 14 to finish with scores of 85-80-165 and is tied for 42nd overall. Kurosky carded both of her birdies in the first round, Nos. 2 and 16, to shoot 85-84-169 and tie for 50th.

The final round of the Saluki Invitational will be a 10 a.m. ET shotgun start.
