Madison Chesnutt Sixth After Two Rounds Of Home Event

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Madison Chesnutt is tied for sixth overall following two rounds of the Fort Wayne Spring Classic on Sunday (April 2) at the Pine Valley Country Club.
The tournament was originally scheduled for a single round on Sunday and another on Monday. However Monday's weather forecast changed those plans and the teams played two rounds on Sunday. A decision will be made Monday morning based on the weather forecast if the squads can play a third round.
Oakland holds a lead at the five-team tournament with a day one score of 293-303-596. Valparaiso is in second (622) while Detroit Mercy, Fort Wayne and Chicago State are all tied for third at 634. The Mastodons shot a 313 in the opening round and a 321 in the nightcap.
Chesnutt leads Fort Wayne with a 154 (72-82). Monica Dorner is a shot behind, tied for eighth at 155 (80-75). Linnzie Richner shot a 163 (80-83). Candi Keller fired a 165 (81-84) and Paige Bird rounded out the Mastodons' starting five with a 166 (85-81).
Four individuals entered the event for the 'Dons. Jenna Kurosky is in 15th with a 159 (80-79). Abigail Carlsen shot a 164 (79-84). Maggie Connelly shot a pair of 84s for a 168. Hannah Jennings scored a 203 (102-101).
The course was played at 5,966 yards and a par of 71.
