KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Fort Wayne women's soccer assistant coach Kelsey Passaglia was named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 class of 2017-18 on Tuesday, Aug. 8.
The fourth-year Fort Wayne assistant coach joins 15 men and 14 other women that were selected from a pool of over 300 applicants for the program. She was one of 19 college coaches that were selected, in addition to seven club coaches, two high school coaches and two professional coaches.
The 30 Under 30 program is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity for a selected group of coaches that are labeled as up-and-comers in the coaching industry.
In addition to being selected for the United Soccer Coaches' 30 Under 30, Passaglia earned her United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma, which is one of the highest coaching diplomas a coach can earn.
"We are all so proud of KP's accomplishments this summer," Fort Wayne head coach Jason Burr said. "She has developed into one of the greatest young minds in the game I have come across and we are incredibly fortunate to have her with us here at Fort Wayne. The impact she has on not only our players on the field, but their lives off the field, as well as the positive effect she has had on our entire coaching and support staff has been immeasurable. KP will be a top coach in this sport in the future and I am glad our program has been one that she has been able to influence early in her career."
Passaglia and Burr open the 2017 regular season with the Mastodons on August 18 at Ball State.
