Chesnutt Paces Mastodons During Opening Day

BATAVIA, Ohio - The Fort Wayne women's golf team carded scores of 323-307-630 during the first day of the NKU Fall Classic as the Mastodons are in sixth place.
Hosted by Northern Kentucky at the Elks Run Golf Club, a 6,053 yard par-71, UNC Asheville leads the team standing with a two-round score of 606. Ellie Cronin from Dayton holds a three-shot lead heading into the final round with a 3-over-par 145.
The Mastodons enter the final day 11 shots back of fifth place NKU.
Madison Chesnutt led the 'Dons with four birdies on the day, shooting rounds of 79-75-154 and finish tied for 16th place. Monica Dorner and Jenna Kurosky are tied for 27th place. Kurosky carded three birdies with rounds of 82-76-158, while Dorner fired scores of 78-80-158. Abigail Carlsen concluded her day with three birdies to tie for 42nd place with a 36-hole score of 84-77-161. Closing out the scoring for the Mastodons was Linnzie Richner, shooting scores of 85-79-164.
The final round of the NKU Fall Classic will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start tomorrow, September 12.
