Rightnowar Earns Sixth Straight Double Double in Road Victory

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Fort Wayne women's volleyball team went on the road and picked up a 3-1 victory over Eastern Michigan (25-16, 13-25, 25-21, 25-22).
The Mastodons were led by Nicole Rightnowar with her sixth straight double-double. Rightnowar had a match-high 14 kills to go along with 16 digs. Natalie Seiler finished with 12 kills while Sydney Boerst added 10 kills and a team-high five blocks. Elizabeth Britner led all players with a career-high 22 digs. Madison Jaqua dished out a match-high 46 assists to go along with seven digs and a match-high two aces.
The Mastodons scored the opening point of the match and followed it with three straight as they never trailed in the set. Fort Wayne led early in the second set, but the Eagles went on a 10-3 run to take the lead and the set. In the third, the 'Dons again took an early lead with the first two points before adding a 5-1 run later in the frame to win the set. Once more it was the Mastodons taking the early lead and never letting up in the fourth. Fort Wayne went up early with a 10-3 advantage and never looked back to win the set and the match.
The Mastodons next travel to the Golden Grizzlies Invitational, September 15-16. While there, the 'Dons will face Towson, Kent State and the host Oakland.
