Fort Wayne Drops Road Contest at Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Despite a late goal from Jessica Schoenfeldt, the Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell to Indiana State 3-1 on Friday (Sept. 15) in Memorial Stadium.
Indiana State scored the first two goals in the first half, in minutes 25 and 36. Tessa Leong scored the first, then Katie Wells scored the second. Wells then scored the third goal for the Sycamores in the 54th minute.
Schoenfeldt earned her second goal of the season with a shot from inside the box in the 87th minute of the match. Both of Schoenfeldt's shots were on goal. Paityn Fleming led the 'Dons with three shots.
Fort Wayne led in corner kicks 6-3. Freshman keeper Emma Gaggioli earned her first start, earning eight saves on the night.
Fort Wayne falls to 0-8-0, while Indiana State improves to 4-3-1. Fort Wayne returns to the home field advantage on Sunday, when Robert Morris visits Hefner Soccer Complex.
