Keating Leads Men's Golf After First Round of the Year

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne men's golf team shot a 307 for its first round of the season as the Mastodons sit in 14th place after the first day of the Wolf Run Intercollegiate.

Hosted by Indiana at the par-71, 7,155-yard Wolf Run Golf Club, Kentucky leads the field with a one-day score of 284. Brian Ohr of Miami (Ohio) leads the 90-player field by four shots, carding a 5-under-par 66 for the round.

Two strokes separate the 'Dons from the top-10. Josh Keating led Fort Wayne on the day with three birdies, shooting a 4-over-par 75 to end the day tied for 29th. One shot separates Zach Schroeder (36th) and Callahan Elzey (44th) with rounds of 76 and 77, respectively. Clark Tiller recorded a pair of birdies on the front-nine to finish tied for 63rd with a 79. Eric Brinker rounded out the team scoring for the Mastodons with an 84 to sit tied for 85th.

The second round of the Wolf Run Intercollegiate will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 9 off the No. 1 and 10 tees.
